Agree the boundaries. Then plan the deployment.

Choose an operating model with a clear account of source access, data handling, responsibilities and readiness. Technical details belong in the evaluation, before a production commitment.

Start with who operates what.

Managed HQ is the application route to discuss. Hybrid/federated architecture remains a design direction; enterprise-managed Motif is a proposed licensing route.

Who operates the systems, context and application?

  1. STEP 01

    Managed HQ

The customer operates its existing source systems. Discuss Ri’SERVE-managed context and HQ application operations within a written deployment scope.

Source ownership and application operation are separate responsibilities.

    • Context operations → Managed HQ: scoped context

Evidence / boundaryConfirm source permissions, hosting, controls and support responsibilities.

  2. STEP 02

    Hybrid / federated

Sources can remain in customer systems while selected reads contribute to context. Materializations, caches, indices and metadata can still require storage.

Federated access does not mean zero storage.

    • Selected context → HQ application: scoped interface
    • Selected context → Derived storage: stored derivatives

Evidence / boundaryMap every read, stored derivative and operating owner in the agreed design.

  3. STEP 03

    Enterprise-managed Motif · proposed

Discuss context infrastructure operated within a customer environment, with a separately scoped technology agreement. Licensing, support and technical readiness remain to be agreed.

A proposed license is a separate infrastructure conversation.

Design direction

Hybrid / federated

A selective read-through architecture, with source systems retained by the customer and selected context materialized where needed.

Proposed license route

Enterprise-managed Motif

A proposed customer-operated deployment, subject to technical, security, support and commercial readiness.

Where production and staging are hosted.

HQ production and staging are hosted in AWS us-east-1 (Northern Virginia, United States).

This identifies the production and staging hosting region. Confirm the locations and handling of backups, logs, AI processing and other subprocessors during technical discovery.

Region selection for a specific customer, dedicated environments and any contractual residency requirement need separate agreement. The hosting fact above does not establish end-to-end US data residency.

Specific questions deserve specific evidence.

The topics below are the technical review agenda. Except for the hosting information above, these details require confirmation for the scoped deployment; they are not certification or control attestations.

Identity and access
Confirm the authentication method, available roles, tenant isolation and how source permissions apply. SSO and MFA availability need technical confirmation.
Encryption and storage
Confirm encryption in transit and at rest, key ownership and each store used by the scoped deployment. Agree what selected context, caches and logs retain.
Backup and recovery
Confirm backup locations, retention, restore procedures and recovery responsibilities. Production hosting alone does not establish backup residency or recovery targets.
Retention and deletion
Agree retention periods, export options, deletion procedures and the handling of derived records and backups. No deletion deadline is promised here.
AI processing and subprocessors
Confirm which providers receive which fields, their processing locations, applicable retention/training terms and any agreed pseudonymization. Do not assume all processing stays in the hosting region.
Actions and accountability
Confirm supported read and write paths, who approves an action, what is logged and who may access customer data. Autonomous execution is not implied.
Support and incident routing
Agree support ownership, incident contacts, escalation and notification commitments in the deployment scope. The founders can route a technical question; this is not a published incident-response SLA.

Federated does not mean nothing is stored.

This is a conceptual trust-boundary view, not a deployed architecture diagram. Agree every selected record, derivative, operator and processing boundary.

Trace each copy and each permission.

Read-through access may reduce replication. Selected materializations, indices, evidence pointers, caches and operational metadata can still need storage.

External processing and subprocessor boundaries must be identified separately; this conceptual view does not establish the complete data flow.

Review source feasibility

Make the responsibilities part of the scope.

Your team
Identify the business and technical owners, authorize source access, agree definitions and decide who reviews proposed actions.
Ri’SERVE
Document the agreed implementation, supported capabilities, data handling and operating responsibilities in the proposal and technical review.
Agree together
Acceptance criteria, permissions, refresh needs, support, incident routing, retention, recovery and any contractual commitments. No certification or service-level commitment is asserted by this page.
